The Dø... Le meilleur groupe de tous les temps...

The DØ est le nouveau duo excitant du moment. Un garçon multi instrumentiste, une fille guitariste à la voix divine, un style très éclectique, six mois de concerts et un myspace qui a déjà atteint les 400 000 visites !

Sur un folk dépouillé et de belles mélodies pop-rock,les deux musiciens, accompagnés d'un batteur sur scène, possèdent un charme fou tenant forcément à la voix évangélique, aigüe et sexy d'Olivia qui se situe quelque part entre Nina Persson des Cardigans, Bjork et Joanna Newsom. The Dø compte parmi ces groupes ultra doués, auteurs de morceaux tellement accrocheurs que le disque ne s'éloigne jamais de la platine. Musicalement, The DØ marie rythmiques pop, folk et rock dans un esprit terriblement chaleureux.

Le duo franco-finlandais The Dø n'aura pas eu à attendre la sortie de son premier album (le 14 janvier) pour connaître un formidable buzz. Merci Internet (Myspace), et merci la pub pour les cahiers d'écoliers, qui a fait d'On my shoulders un tube potentiel.

Voilà deux ans que la Finlandaise Oliva B Merilahti et le Français Dan Levy se sont rencontrés, en travaillant sur la BO d'un film. Depuis, ils ont continué. Voilà de la pop sans prétention, maligne et irrésistiblement accrocheuse. On pense aux Cardigans, à Cat Power pour la voix.

Mais The Dø, c'est aussi un puits de petites trouvailles. Dan Levy a ½uvré dans le jazz et la musique contemporaine, il sait inventer, soigner ses arrangements, peaufiner. Les deux multi-instrumentistes osent parfois s'aventurer vers le hip-hop et ne se fixent aucune limite. Sur scène, le batteur est entouré d'une espèce de chapiteau de moules à gâteaux qui lui servent de percussions. The Dø avait créé la sensation aux dernières Transmusicales de Rennes.

Laissez-vous happer par l'univers fantasque de ce duo dont on n'a pas fini d'entendre parler. Le coup de coeur devrait être contagieux, il est même garanti !
